Lake George winter carnival

One of the motorcycle/sidecar rigs. It's an in-line 4 cylinder running on racing fuel. Beside it is one of the 4-wheelers.

Turn 4 on the oval track. They are running about 70 mph.

There was a good crowd on hand. The weather was perfect- upper 20's and bright sunshine.

Every carnival has to have a hot dog vendor. I didn't find the one with the cotton candy.

Looking over towards the pits.

Happy Valentine's Day

This was Wednesday before the bottom fell out. It was nice out- the warmest day we'd had for the year.

The driveway is finally clear of ice, and most of the roof is clear, too.

The pile is shrinking, but February is half over now.

Some more errands

The days' errands started here. The car was getting loud enough to drown out the radio at high volume. This stop was the most expensive and took the longest, but at least the car is quiet again.

Then I stopped here for a converter box for the TV. They were sold out of them, so I went to Wally World in Wilton and got one. I had the coupon, so it wasn't too expensive.

Farm Chores

Just did some snow removal at the farm today. Heather hasn't been able to get the tractor started.

I got the tractor started for her. It was warmer today, which helped out a lot. We also mixed in some kerosene in with the diesel so it will run better in the cold.

I cleared a path out to the barn so she can get out there a lot easier.

I'm also a lot more at home running tractors and such.

errands and more

Another balmy noontime here. We've been at -15 the last couple of nights. It's supposed to warm up for the weekend, though

There is a hole in the pile, but still quite a bit left.

The demons are gathering. I counted 9 of them this morning.

This is the "errands" part of the post. Just a trip to the bank.

random shots and thoughts

The wood pile is shrinking, but most of the bitter cold is behind us. At least, we hope it is.

The car is finished. I put the new brace and latch in this morning, along with the windshield washer spray jets.

We have plenty of icicles hanging around.

This was the warmest day we have had so far this year.
