Yesterday and today

Yesterday morning, I got the garden started. The first row is a mixed row, with the head lettuce and some spinach. The second row is all leaf lettuce.
Row 3 is also leaf lettuce and row 4 is the collards. I still need to get some green onions to put in.
Today was a very nice day, so Heather and I went fishing.
The water is a lot lower than the last time I was there. We finally got a few days with no rain, I guess. It's also more than 10 degrees warmer. The water temperatures were in the mid 60's today.

Pasture work is started

We started dragging and seeding our pasture this afternoon. Even with the blocks on the drag for more weight, it doesn't dig enough. We'll try adding some chain link and see if that helps.
It's not doing a bad job, though. We just need more bite to help fill in the giant horse hoofprints.
We only got about halfway done today before the lightning and thunder rolled in. We will finish it another day. We have to go back to work tomorrow.

It's boating season

After I got up this morning, I hooked up the boat and checked it over- tire pressure including spare, greased the hubs, checked the lights and test fired the motor. Everything checked out fine.
There were more boats on the lake than I thought there would be, but it was still far from crowded.
The water was a bit muddy, but with all the rain we have had, not very surprising. The water temperature was in the low 50's, but should warm up quickly over the next couple of weeks.
It was a beautiful day to wet a line. I didn't catch anything, but didn't care. It was just nice being out on the lake. The boat sputtered a little for a couple of minutes, but then ran perfectly.

Storm damage cleanup

One of the trees in the churchyard across the road went down during yesterday's storm. The road crew just cleared a path through it last night. They had a busy evening, I guess.
Today was the rest of the cleanup. They brought more saws and a tractor with a bucket with them for the heavy lifting.
