Range member

I got my membership stuff in the mail yesterday from Montgomery County Fish and Game, so I thought I would come down and look around the range I just joined. They have rifle out to 200 yards, and a pistol range that has stations at 15 and 25 yards.
They also have 2 trap stations, and have a trap shoot on Friday nights. There is also an archery range, but I don't have a bow. Everything looks good!

finishing the cleanup

When the storm took down the other big limb, it also exposed a large dead limb that was still waiting to come down.
It came down today with a little help, even though I hate working on a ladder. I figured this was easier than waiting for it to fall and take the fence down again.
All cleaned up. (again)

Storm damage clean up

We lost a big chunk of the maple tree in the last storm.
It tore down part of the fence when it came down. Heather put up one of her extra corral panels to make sure the horses didn't decide to leave.
Cutting it all up took most of the day. There were a lot of branches to drag over to the burn pile. It's a lot bigger now.
I took quite a few loads of wood out to the road and stacked them up. We put a "free wood" sign on the pile. The first stack was gone before we finished eating lunch.
All cleaned up and ready for the repair work to the fence. That part is going to wait for a little bit. Heather put the horses back across the street, so we can take our time finishing the fence repair. We also want to put in some culvert pipe and light the burn pile before we bring them back over here.

Getting the tractor ready

I pulled the deck off first. That is the easiest part. Then I took the blades off, set them aside, and scraped all the buildup off the underside.
I took a wire brush to it after that, cleaning it up good. I have one that fits my grinder, so it wasn't that hard to do, just dusty and dirty.

Then the paint. This is the first coat, and it's actually red. I put grey over that, and then yellow. I used up all the old spray paint from the shed. I hope that will help protect it. It was starting to rust a little. I sharpened the blades up and greased the spindles while the paint was drying, as well as repairing the steering. The bushings had worn out and the steering was getting pretty sloppy.

Then comes the hard part - putting the deck back on and hooking it up. I've done it quite a few times, so it's not so bad. I used to have to do all this when I put the snowblower on every winter.

All hooked up and ready to mow. All there is left to do before I start mowing is the oil change.

Stump is moved!

I don't know why this picture is 10 times size, but the stump is out of the drainage ditch. The guys were back at Alfie's barn with the bigger tractor, so I asked them to move it for me and they did. That was very nice of them.
Now that the stump is out of the ditch, it should dry out and I'll be able to break it up and get it on the burn pile.
