barn pictures

The barn is all cleared out. This is going to be the horses' side. Yes, the pallets have to removed. They are going on the brush pile and be burned.

Here is the pile of boards from the old barn we salvaged. This is the rabbit and tack side of the barn. Those barrels went with me when I left today. I hope to get started on the rebuilding part this coming weekend.

more chores

This is the final load of boards that we salvaged from the barn in Danville. I hope it is enough to do the repairs to our barn.

Somebody had to move all the supplies into the barn. Since I was the only one there, I elected me to do it. I protested the results, but it didn't help.

more barn cleaning

This is the view when you crest the last hill on Donahew. The barn in the front is the one across the road from us. Our place is visible just over the top of that barn. It will look better once we get a house there.

This is the remaining junk in the barn. The pallets will be burned with the brush pile that is in the back of the horse pasture.

Mowing the new place

With the tractor rolled out of the truck, I'm ready to get started.

A few hours later, it's all mowed. I found out where all the holes, soft spots and wet areas are, and even met one of the new neighbors.

Building the new rabbit barn

Heather arriving with all our project supplies.

We got started getting all the posts in the ground after we moved the materials over to the mini's pasture.

Arizona wanted to help in the worst way. She got bored and wandered off when we didn't let her help.

Lisa nailing the back wall in place after the roof supports were put up.

Heather and Lisa admiring the results of our work. It only took about three hours to get to this point. After this, we added another board around the top gap and stapled the old tarp over the top to help with the rain.
