Cave picture and other features

This one is one of the other interesting features along the river. I like the way the rock zig-zags.

The cave is the dark spot about 20 feet up off the water.

A little closer.

I still can't tell how far back it goes, but it looks like I might be able to climb up to it.

Kentucky River pictures

This is one of the interesting features eroded into the cliffs over the centuries. There are some caves in this section of the river, but this is just a large depression in the rock face.

The mouth of a creek entering the river. The water was a little low today, or I would have tried to get up into the creek and see where it went to.

Looking back up the river at the creek entrance. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Barn siding

I took the ladder with me today. I needed it to get to the top of the peak to finish nailing the first set of boards we put up and to be able to reach what we put up today.

It matches color and texture very well. Once we get it painted, it will look like it was built this way.

The light leaks and drafts are sealed up pretty well for a barn. The one that is visible here is the edge of the open door.

More work

Heather took this as I was finishing up the drivers' side brakes of the Subaru yesterday. Not quite how I wanted to spend Easter, but it had to be done.

This is the first board to go up as we start the repair and remodeling of our barn. The Danville barn lumber we salvaged matches beautifully.

Some of the pieces gave us a really hard time nailing them up. The timbers in our barn are old hardwood, probably oak, and hard as concrete in some places. We bent a lot of nails on it today.

A Little Bit of Everything

Getting started on the mowing. It went a little quicker this time because I knew where most of the obstacles were.

The finished job. It is thickening up and starting to look nice. I also got to meet the neighbors on the right side this time. She lives in Ohio (Dayton area) and comes down about twice a month during the summer.

I finally got the registration stickers put on the boat.

The shed moved over and ready for the trip across the yard to it's new home. We finished up in the dark.

Rebuilding the brakes (again) on the Subaru. One of the caliper pistons started sticking and wore completely through the pad.
