Cabinet floor done

Over the years, the old faucet in the kitchen had leaked and that waterlogged the bottom of the cabinet. That faucet was replaced a while ago and I started tearing the old wood out on Tuesday. It's all removed in this picture, down to the floor.
I measured and re-measured to try and get it close, but it's kind of hard to read a tape measure there. I did get it very close, though. Then I drew it out on the board and cut it. The original cabinet bottom was one piece, put in before the water lines and countertop. I had to break it up into a big jigsaw puzzle that I could get through the opening.
There is a total of 4 pieces that now make up the "floor" in the cabinet. They seamed together fairly nicely. We can now use the space under the kitchen sink again.

Kitchen cabinets finally finished

As you may recall, Natalie got the base cabinet painted a while ago.
Yesterday, I finally got the drawers and remaining doors painted.
Today was spent getting hardware and more stuff to finish the installation of the handles. For example, the screws for the knobs were fine, but the screws for the handles were all too short. The hardware store saw me several times today. But it is done and looks good.

Camping at Indian Lake State Park

All hooked up and ready to go. We were headed to Indian Lake in Ohio on Friday morning.
We picked up Wyatt, Natalie's younger son on our way. I got the camper set up and we were just relaxing a little bit.
It is a very big campground with well over 400 sites. They were all full this weekend.
We brought the bikes and rode around the campground several times. Blake (her other son) joined us for the day Saturday. We all had a good time.

New bumper on the truck

Today was spent replacing the rear bumper on the truck. When it had got dented, I ordered a new on. It arrived a couple weeks ago. Today was my first chance to swap it out. Naturally, it fought me most of the way, but in the end, I won. I still have to get a new sensor for the right side. It's been ordered.

Grayson Lake fishing trip

Heather and I went fishing on Friday, with Grayson Lake being the chosen spot. We had beautiful weather and the great scenery.
We both caught a fish out of this little crack in the rock wall. All the fish we caught ( about a dozen or so) were on the small side, so we didn't keep any of them, but still had a fun day on the lake.
This is one of our favorite coves. It's very pretty and we usually catch some fish in here, too. It's actually warm enough to start swimming (73*), but we didn't bring anything for that.
This is the bay in Elliot County where we launch. It was a great day to be out.

Camping trip to Carter Caves

Natalie and I wanted to do another local trip with the camper before we headed anywhere out of state with it. We chose Carter Caves here in Kentucky. We got a pretty nice campsite and we took the bikes for looking around the campgrounds.
Our first tour was called Cascade Cave and was very interesting. I had not been on a cave tour in a long time, so we both enjoyed the formations.
Scenery around the cave entrances was also spectacular.
The second cave we went through was called the X cave because of it's shape. It resembled a crevasse in the cave system and was also quite interesting.
This was the old entrance to the cave. There was originally a hanging bridge from the other side of the canyon. It collapsed years ago and a new entrance was created.
Nature is very persistent, as demonstrated by this tree growing on a boulder. Makes for beautiful scenery, too.

Camping season has begun

This past weekend, we started the camping season at Boonesboro State Park. It's closer to home in case anything goes wrong. We were in site # 142 in the back corner of the campground.
The spot was a nice one, if a bit on the short side. The camper is a smaller one, so everything fit in Ok. Natalie wanted me to wait until she got out of the picture, but I didn't.
Here we are all set up and enjoying the sunshine. It did rain Friday night, but the rest of our stay was nice weather.
We picked up a new mat for the steps. I like it.
We got to spend some time watching the river flow past. There wasn't very much boat traffic. That was surprising. I should have brought a fishing pole. I will next time.
