And a new number display

This was the old house number marker that Natalie made for the girls, but it was kind of hard to read while driving by.

She made a new one over the weekend and I removed the old one and put up the new one yesterday. It's smaller, but the numbers are a lot easier to see.

New mailbox

This mailbox was just one I had laying around last week when some dirtbag stole my box. According to a deputy, there were a bunch of them stolen around the area. I got a new one and Natalie wanted to make it nicer looking.

She finished it up last night and I got it put out today. Hopefully, this one will stay around for a long while.

Fishing trip to Grayson Lake

Heather and I went to Grayson Lake this morning for a few hours of fishing. The water was quite low. This sandbar I usually float over. The shallow water bouy was laying in the middle of it.

You can see the water marks on the bridge pilings. Our usual fishing spots were still producing fish, though. We caught over a dozen and brought a larger bass home for a future lunch.

The water is normally in the whiter section. One of the usual spots was too shallow to fish, but most were ok.

Trip to Mammoth Cave

Allen and I took a trip to Mammoth Cave last week while he was here. We also visited the Lost River seen here.

It's not really lost, it just goes underground in several spots for part of it's journey out to the gulf. The entrance was a speakeasy during Prohibition.

I had been to Mommoth Cave once before when I was a child, but there are a lot more areas opened up now. This tour was all areas I had not seen before.

In some places, it is a LONG way down to the bottom of the cave.

Lots of stairs to climb on this tour, but the guide went slow so we could all keep up.

Some areas were relatively flat and very open.

Quite a lot to see here. There were 8 or 9 tours in different parts of the cave system.

And several serious drop-offs that the catwalk went over. Allen and I both enjoyed seeing the sights here.
