Fishing trip to Cave Run

This morning, Natalie, Heather, Willow and I went fishing. We went to Cave Run Lake, mostly because it's close by if anything goes wrong. This is the first time out for the boat this year.

We had a beautiful day to be out on the water. It started out on the chilly side , but warmed up very nicely.

There was a bunch of tree swallows resting on this old tree truck sticking out of the water. We got to watch them for a little while.

I beached the boat near Twin Knobs to wipe some of the dust off the top of the boat. Willow had fun running around in the sand.

The view of Twin Knobs from the middle of the lake. The water is still on the cool side (61), but is warming up fairly quickly now. We got a few nibbles today, but didn't catch anything.

Base cabinet painted

Natalie got the base cabinet painted this weekend. She wasn't really happy that I took her picture, though.

The drawer fronts and doors still need paint. Warmer weather is coming, so they will get painted soon.
 

New Rototiller ready to go

I ordered a new rear tine rototiller last week. It came in a day early. I got a message on Monday that it was in, so I picked it up. It was almost dark when I got home with it, so I waited until Tuesday to unload it.

The assembly wasn't really hard to do, just attaching the handle and controls.

The hard part was replacing the oil filler cap after I put oil in it. I knew about this from reading reviews on it, but it still needed a little more coaxing to finish it up today. I put some gas in it and it tested out good. The garden is ready to plant. That part will have to wait until March, though.
 

New brakes for the car

It was time for new brakes for the car. They started scraping a couple days ago, so I ordered some new parts for it. They came mid-week, but today was the first chance I had to change them out.

It was the drivers' side that was making noise. They were a bit chewed up when I got them apart.

New ceramic pads and new rotors. It should be a lot quieter and work better, too. It took about an hour, so it wasn't too hard of a job to do.
 

 

 

 

 

 OK, so these pictures are in reverse order. The counter top is fastened to the base, and the base cabinet is attached to the wall.

Base cabinet has arrived

The missing base cabinet has now arrived. We put it in the middle of the countertop, but I think it will work better on the left side. It still needs to be painted before it gets fastened in anywhere.

This is the reason for the delays. The dishwasher quit on us last week. The repairman said it would cost more to fix it than it would to replace it. I only found one store that even had one in stock, and this is it. White ones were out of stock everywhere and no time frame for delivery of it. So we have a black one. Allen and I removed the old one and installed this one Saturday.
