Some fun today

Heather talked me into taking the boat out today. It didn't take a lot. Today was our first day in the 80's, and we've only had a couple in the 70's so far this year.

We had a very nice few hours out on the river. The fish weren't biting, but we still enjoyed the day. The water is still pretty cold- the big lakes only just thawed a couple weeks ago. Heather did get a little pink, but not burned.

A beautiful day

I got part of the maintenance done today- the tire rotation. It got an alignment yesterday and the right front tire was a little chewed up. It will be fine as a back tire.

This is where I finished up yesterday, with the third section done and the big inside section started.

Now the inside is finished up and I got started on the next one. Slowly, it's getting done.

a bit more

I was just getting the second section started yesterday. We had a very nice day to work outside.

This is how far I got on that section before the splitter ran out of gas.

This was today's tank of gas. This section (the 3rd) is only about half the size of the rest of them.
I also got the garden turned over before the rain started yesterday. There are a few onions that survived the winter and are growing. I rototilled around them.

Some progress

Getting started again. The wood is in the "garage" behind me. After it's split, I toss it up towards the section it is going to be stacked in.

Meanwhile, Heather was in the garden raking out the piles of rabbit cage cleanings from the winter.

First section done and second one started. That was all for today.

It's a start

I got started on the wood pile today. It took a tank of gas in the splitter for this pile.

I thought the pile was going to be higher than this, but it's still a good start. I'll get more done tomorrow.

Season change

First, you drop off the blower unit and separate it from the tractor. Then take off the pulley assembly from underneath the tractor, the chains and wheel weights. While you have it apart, change the oil, filter, and air cleaner.

Then get the blades sharpened and spindles greased. Slide the deck under the tractor and hook it up. Put on the front bumper, and you're done. Now we just have to hope we're all done with the snow.

latest trip to Kentucky

Jessica came down to see us while we were there.

As you might have guessed, it is breakfast time.

They have better places to eat there than we do. There aren't any Krystal/White Castle around us. Or Steak and Shake. Or Sonic.
