Routine chores today

The car was up first today. It was time for an oil change. I have done a little on the "no headlights" problem, but haven't found the main cause yet.
Then we fixed the fence that was taken down by the tree last week. The pasture is now ready for the horses to come back over. We're not planning to move them for another week or two.

Pasture cleanup

It was the Roark's pasture that we were cleaning up. There were some very large grubs under part of the trunk.
The trunk landed on this frog, or he rode the trunk down. Either way, it was a paper thin frog.
All cleaned up. We still have to repair the fence before the horses come back over here.

Great day on the lake

I'm hooked up and ready to head out to Cave Run Lake.
The launches were mostly empty, with school on and it being a weekday.
The lake was mostly empty, too. It was warm and sunny today, a perfect day to be out on the water.
The closest boat to me was almost a mile away. I don't like crowded, so today was great. The water has cooled substantially since last week, but is still warm enough for swimming. It was 79-80 today, but was 86-87 last week when I was out.

Cleaning up the other pasture

One of the maple trees along the church side of the Roark's pasture fell in the storm a couple of days ago. It only tore down a small section of the fence.
The trunk snapped cleanly, but the treetop kept the pieces close together. Sorry about the sideways picture. I cut a couple of the smaller supporting branches and that dropped it to the ground.
Then I cut it up. Most of it will be firewood for the Roarks and the really small stuff will be a brush pile to burn after it dries out good.
