Halloween riding

Heather and Marianne rounded up the horses and walked them over to the yard to be saddled up for the ride.
Boo got her first ride on a 4-wheeler as we followed them around the field taking pictures. We made sure we didn't get TOO close. Neither horse is afraid of the wheeler, so they ignored us.
Afterwards, I took Bahloo around the front part of the field, with Marianne and Phoenix in the lead. We all enjoyed getting out in the sunshine and fresh air.

First Kentucky deer and the garage sale

Lynne and Heather set up our sale under the carport in case it rained. We had a very nice weekend and it didn't rain. The wind blew instead. This picture was taken on Saturday. I added a bar for hanging clothes this morning. What we expected to sell didn't and what we thought would sit, got sold. Maybe we'll figure it out next year.
I was hunting this weekend. Early muzzle loader was this weekend, and I was out. I got my first Kentucky deer Sunday at sunset. It was a challenge to field dress it while holding a flashlight. I'll figure something out. I hope to get more and it might be near dark again. As you can see, it was kind of warm today. I'm used to colder weather by now, but I can make some adjustments.

Finally some fun

I put in at the Alfrey ramp in the Twin Knobs recreation area and headed north towards the dam on Cave Run Lake.
The fall colors are starting to become visible on some of the trees around the lake.
Much of the lake was smooth as glass. This is the type of water my boat does best in. I took this shot at near top speed, and the boat is as smooth as can be.

I came home a different route and found this ramp below the dam. This is the Licking River, which Cave Run Lake feeds. I'll be exploring this at a later date.

More work, still no play

Heather lost the brakes on the car on the way home from the rabbit show. We're glad nothing happened to her. First thing was to rebuild the brakes, only to find out afterward that the line had blown. It was in a place I couldn't get to, so we took it to the shop.
The yard still needed mowing when we got back, so I got that done. It was getting dark when I finished up.
