Kentucky River pictures

This is one of the interesting features eroded into the cliffs over the centuries. There are some caves in this section of the river, but this is just a large depression in the rock face.

The mouth of a creek entering the river. The water was a little low today, or I would have tried to get up into the creek and see where it went to.

Looking back up the river at the creek entrance. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

  1. that top pic really does look like there is a cave there. have you explored any of these caves? i think that might be interesting. other than that, it looks like it is about the same width as the hudson in the schuylerville area, maybe a little bit narrower.

  2. The next time I am down on that section of the river, I plan to stop and see if I can get up to one cave I found. It might be too steep, but I'm going to at least stop and look. The river is narrower than the Hudson was and about 20-30 feet deep along there.
